We are hoping that your visit to our website is just the beginning!  Not only is Collins a "Short Country Drive to Anywhere," we are also a community dedicated to being on the move.  We would be thrilled to have you join us on our journey.

 

Located on Highway 65, just 30 minutes from Des Moines, Ames, Newton, Ankeny, Altoona, and Marshalltown, Collins is considered to be at the crossroads of Iowa's central metro.  Add in the fact that we are just a few miles away from a host of other communities, Collins is an easy commute to pretty much anywhere in central Iowa.  

 

Accessible and opportune, the City of Collins provides a great environment to raise a family, open a business, or live out the golden years of life.  With our infrastructure upgrades, capitol improvement plans, top-tier park system, and many other on-going community improvement efforts, Collins is definitely on its way to being an up-and-coming community.  In fact, the only thing we really seem to be missing is you!
